Annapurna region is the most beaten trekking region in Nepal due to the easy access, developed infrastructure for lodging & fooding, likewise moderate kind of trails except one pass called Thorang Pass. Thus any people believe that the trekking around Annapurna is the classic one. It offers not only some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Himalayas, but between the lush irrigated valleys of the massif to the south and the high arid country to the north.

The starting point this trek is Besisahar on the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway. This tour offers excellent views of Machapuchare (Fishtail 22,942ft/6,993), Lamjung Himal (22,904ft/6,981m), Annapurna II (26,033ft/7,935m), Annapurna IV (24,682ft/7,523m), Annapurna III (24,780ft/7,553m) and Gangapurna (24,452ft/7,453m) on the north and west. Manaslu (26,752ft/8,154m), Peak 29 (25,699ft/7,833m) and Buddha Himal (21,884ft/6,670m) dominate the eastern skyline.

The trekking route passes through different ethnic communities and cultures e.g. Brahmin/Chhetri to Gurung then to Thakali, Thakali to Magar and back to Brahmin/Chhetri. Thus you will experience too many cultures and cultural groups in one tour within a few days.

Crossing the Thorang Pass (17,764ft/5,415m) from Manang is a long but gradual climb through grassy meadows and high yak pastures. We also visit Muktinath temple which is equally respected and worshiped by Hindus and Buddhist.

The Annapurna Sanctuary is a high glacial basin, situated below a chain of eleven of Nepal's major peaks, it has spectacular views of each of these giants, which includes; Huinchuli (6441m/21,132ft), Annapurna South (7,219m/23,683ft), Fang (7,647m/25,089ft), Annapurna I (8,091m/26,545ft), Roc Nior (7,485m/24,556ft), Glacier Dome (7,193m/23,600ft), Gangapurna (7,455m/24,457ft), Annapurna III (7,556m/24,787ft), Fluted Peak (6,390m/21,087ft), Machapuchhre (6,993m/22,944ft), and Mardi Himal (5,555m/18,331ft).

Acclimatisation is not a matter as we trek gradually climb from lower altitude to the higher. This magnificent glacial valley is called a 'Sanctuary' not because of laws that protect wildlife within its boundaries, but because of its natural serenity, beauty and the divine presence of the goddesses, Annapurna and Gangapurna, both are important figures in Hindu mythology.

This tour starts from Pokhara via the Seti Khola (river), continues to Dhampus, and enters the Modi Khola the following day via a forested route offering fine views of Machapuchhre. Most of the villages in this area belong to the Gurung people, a very prosperous group living primarily in the foothills surrounding Pokhara. These people depend largely on agriculture and sheep breeding for their subsistence, although large numbers of the men have served as Gurkha soldiers in the British & Indian army, thus it is a prosperous village.

After Ghandrung the trail enters into a dense bamboo forest clinging to the steep Modi Khola gorge. The gorge widens out and the trail gradually climbs up to the Machapuchare Base Camp.

Due to the remoteness of this region from capital, the trek becomes expensive due to Arial transportation for goods and people, however our company makes it cheaper by using local manpower for the porterage & cooking so that local community gets employment and direct benefits.

This trek as the best in the Everest region and may be sometimes coincided with the annual Tibetan-Buddhist tsechu, or religious festival at Thyangboche monastery. Probably one of the really special parts of this festival is to see the enraptured faces of the local Sherpas, young and very old, who come a long way to be there and you having sometime to understand and mixed with Sherpa culture dominated the region.
